Fellowship Opportunities at First Church
Our spiritual lives are enriched through our friendships. FUMC offers a variety of fellowship opportunities and groups for all ages. If you are looking to build new friendships, deepen your faith, learn about other places in the world and their needs, serve your community, want to be challenged to think outside the box, or enjoy singing with others, you will find what you're looking for at First United Methodist Church of Glen Ellyn.

Check out our Events page for more information on outings and other fellowship happenings. As always, you don't have to be a current member of our faith community to join us - everyone is invited!
First Cup Café & Special Sundays
The first Sunday of each month after worship, visit with your church family at First Cup Café. Grab a cup of coffee, tea, or lemonade, and enjoy chatting with friends or meeting new people who will surely soon become friends.

Throughout the year, we also have special fellowship after church such as Mardi Gras Sunday. All are welcome!
Maybe you knew United Women in Faith by an earlier name: United Methodist Women. UWF is a group of women who come together to support one another, the local church, the worldwide church, and missions near and far. They enjoy fellowship, reading and studying, praying together, and giving time and money to work for the betterment of the environment and the lives of others, particularly women and children. A few times a year, all women are invited everyone to meet together for general meetings; however, many women also meet in small groups, called circles. No one has to be a member or a regular attender of First UMC of Glen Ellyn to participate — all women are welcome!

Sunday Morning Book Club
For 19 years, the UWF Book Club has met at First Church for a time of reading, sharing, and learning. They meet six times per year after Sunday worship to discuss books from the United Women in Faith “Reading Program” which encourages reading in five categories: Education for Mission, Leadership Development, Nurturing for Community, Social Action, and Spiritual Growth.
Stitches for Mission
Do you enjoy needlework? Then join the Stitches for Mission group! They meet periodically to sew items for the Midwest Mission Distribution Center and to knit or crochet items for the Center or for various charities. If you are new to needlework and are looking for encouragement from seasoned pros, this is a great place to start.

Martha/Sarah Circle
With a special focus on retired women and moms of school-aged children, the Martha/Sarah circle meets at church on the 4th Wednesday morning of January, March, May, September, and November at church for fellowship and study. This is a particularly convenient fellowship group for moms whose children are in the Parents' Day Out program!
Ruth Circle
Meeting in members’ homes on the 4th Thursday of the month in the afternoon, Ruth Circle engages in Bible study and discussion and also enjoys social time with refreshments. Any woman is welcome to join in the study and fellowship.
Hannah Circle
Hannah Circle meets in members’ homes or at church the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. This group enjoys book study and discussion (but you'll always be included even if you haven't read the book!), service projects, and social gatherings.
